The Cité du Vin is temporarily closed due to COVID, but will come back with special exhibits in 2021. Please consult laciteduvin.com for full details.
Comprising more than 13,350m2 spread over ten levels and reaching a height of 55 metres, the Cité du Vin is a journey in itself. Each and every detail evokes liquid elements and the very soul of wine, and invites you to step in and explore. The bold architectural design by architects Anouk Legendre and Nicolas Desmazières from XTU architects is impressive for its shape and audacious curves, as well as its ever-changing reflections depending on the season, day or time.
The permanent exhibition takes visitors on a sensory adventure to discover the cultures and civilizations of wine. In an open exhibition space occupying more than 3,000 m², nearly twenty different themed areas invite you to take a voyage of discovery and enjoy a unique experience exploring the many and varied facets of wine across time and space.
Temporary exhibitions explore different aspects of wine in conjunction with other themes such as music and art, history, geography, and more.
