On Thursday, May 23, La Cité du Vin hosted the Olympic Flame as it travels towards the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The torchbearer was Pierre Luquet, gold medal champion in the two-seater canoë-kayak slalom. He was met by a number of local dignitaries including La Cité du Vin President Sylvie Cazes and Director Philippe Massot.
Although it was a day of on-and-off rain, a large number of spectators crowded around La Cité du Vin to view the brief ceremony.
The Olympic Flame will travel around the country and arrive in time for the 2024 Summer Olympics opening ceremony on Friday, July 26.
