On the evening of Thursday, January 27, La Cité du Vin – Fondation pour la culture et les civilisations hosted the sixth annual Gala Diner de Bordeaux. Three hundred guests attended this magical night that included a well-executed menu by a Michelin starred chef with wine pairings from prestigious international properties and the announcement of the 2022 exhibit, Picasso, the Effervescence of Shapes. Guests were entertained with songs illustrating the life of Pablo Picasso.
Jérôme Schilling, the Michelin starred chef of the Restaurant Lalique at Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey presided over a wonderful dinner that included wines from Champagne BILLECART-SALMON / Chateau Malartic-Lagravière / Domaine Thörle Riesling / Château Palmer / La Chapelle Paul Jaboulet Ainé / Domaine Montepeloso / Domaine Torres Mas La Plana / Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey 1er Grand Cru Classé en 1855 Sauternes / Klein Constantia Wine Estate / HARDY COGNAC. Author, Ophélie Neiman, provided a brief history of each of the esteemed properties for the guests.
To complement the 2022 Picasso exhibit, Héloïse Wagner performed songs specially composed by lyricist Frank Thomas and composer Reinhardt Wagner reflecting the life of the painter Pablo Picasso. Mme Wagner was accompanied by pianist and composer Reinhardt Wagner and accordionist Rodrigue Fernandez.
